淫人色欲社 has released its , delivered by its 10th Head of School, Brian Sullivan, marking a defining moment in the School鈥檚 history and formally launching , the most ambitious financial endeavor in the School鈥檚 103-year history.

Recorded in St. Michael鈥檚 Chapel, the address reflects on the School鈥檚 momentum and outlines a clear and definitive path forward. 鈥淎s South Kent enters its second century, our mission to form young men of character, resilience, and purpose remains as vital today as it was in 1923,鈥� Sullivan shared. 鈥淎t the midpoint of my third year as Head of School, I am deeply encouraged by the momentum across the Hillside.鈥�

That momentum includes record growth in The South Kent Fund, the highest boarding enrollment in the School鈥檚 history, expanded academic and co-curricular offerings, and a revitalized North Campus now serving as a living classroom. Sullivan emphasized that these gains are not accidental, but the result of a dedicated community working quietly and steadily to ensure the School is prepared not only to endure, but to lead.

The address also introduces The South Kent Initiative, a multi-year effort designed to position the School for long-term, sustainable growth by investing in its people, programs, and place. As of February 2026, South Kent has already raised $28 million in gifts and future commitments toward the Initiative, with $17 million remaining to reach its goal.

鈥淭his is a moment of shared responsibility,鈥� Sullivan noted in his remarks. 鈥淥ne that calls for thoughtful investment in our people, programs, and place.鈥� To that end, the School announced that all funds raised between now and June 30, 2028 will count toward The South Kent Initiative, including gifts made during , taking place on Tuesday, February 24.

We are launching the event in February with a special talk by South Kent alumnus Professor Sukehiro Hasegawa 鈥�62, who will share stories of his time on the Hillside and insights from his esteemed career in international diplomacy. Reflecting on the upcoming event, Professor Hasegawa said, “South Kent instilled in me a deep sense of curiosity and resilience. I am honored to share my journey and discuss how the lessons I learned on the Hillside have shaped my work in international diplomacy.”

Joining us from the Hillside will be Head of School Brian Sullivan, The Reverend Steve Klots, and South Kent alumni leaders Dillon Duncan 鈥�04 and Rich Brande 鈥�88. Reflecting on this milestone event, Brian Sullivan shared, “South Kent鈥檚 influence extends far beyond the Hillside, and it鈥檚 truly special to bring our global community together to celebrate a century of excellence. This reunion is a testament to the lasting impact of a South Kent education.”

The Shanghai event will feature a variety of exciting activities, including a scenic boat cruise and an evening of karaoke. The highlight of the weekend will be a dinner hosted by Ron Xin Wang 鈥�11 at his renowned restaurant, the Shanghai Yichun Garden Seafood Restaurant. Attendees will have the chance to reconnect with fellow alumni, share memories, and celebrate South Kent鈥檚 enduring spirit.

Following the gathering in China, the team will travel to Seoul and Tokyo for additional alumni events, further strengthening the bonds within our international community.

The Reverend Klots emphasized the significance of this reunion, stating, “The spirit of South Kent is one of lifelong brotherhood, and it鈥檚 incredible to see that bond transcending borders. This journey will not only reconnect alumni but also inspire future generations of South Kent students.”

This series will offer our community an enriching platform to explore the diverse paths of success that South Kent alumni and other professionals have taken, demonstrating the enduring value of a Hillside education. Designed to engage, educate, and inspire, The Pathway Series includes four unique components, each focusing on different aspects of career, academic, and personal growth. These events will provide real-world insights and mentorship opportunities that highlight the resilience and leadership qualities our students can aspire to emulate.

Pillars of the Series:

1. Alumni Stories
   Objective: Inspire students by sharing the unique journeys of South Kent alumni as they discuss career achievements, challenges, and lessons learned along the way.
   Format: One-on-one interviews or panel discussions, followed by Q&A sessions, allowing current students to ask questions and engage directly with alumni.

After an October 11 visit to Iowa City, and with offers from several competitive programs鈥攊ncluding his first from Penn State in June 2022 and a pivotal offer from Iowa on October 7鈥擠iakite decided that Iowa was the right place to continue his basketball journey. South Kent Cardinals Head Coach Craig Carter expressed his pride and excitement: 鈥淏adara has worked incredibly hard and shown tremendous growth, both as a player and as a person, during his time at South Kent. His commitment to Iowa is a testament to his dedication, and I have no doubt he鈥檒l make a significant impact in the Big Ten. We鈥檙e all excited to see him take this next step.鈥�

Ranked No. 24 among centers in the 2025 class by 247 Sports, Diakite is also listed as the No. 3 player in Connecticut. He has earned a reputation for his versatility and defensive impact, with analysts highlighting his skill set at the 2024 New England Prep Schools Showcase. This past season, Diakite played a major role in helping South Kent鈥檚 basketball program earn a No. 19 national ranking.

Head of School Brian Sullivan also shared his enthusiasm: 鈥淲e are so proud of Badara and all he鈥檚 accomplished at South Kent. His journey reflects the values we strive to instill in our students鈥攄edication, self-reliance, and a drive to excel.
